Kenwood Farms and Gardens

About Kenwood Farms and Gardens (KF&G)

Simply Elegant and Tasteful, That is Kenwood Farms and Gardens, and we are located in the Heart of the Sonoma Valley, it is a well known fact that this is the "Valley of the Moon" and it is located just minutes away from Jack London's "Wolf House" and many historic moments in time.
We are Experienced, Friendly and Creative and we are nestled amongst one of the finest grape growing regions in the Wine Country, if not the world, sitting at the base of the Mt. Hood and the Sugar Loaf Mountain Range and the Eagles Point.

IIn the late 1800's this was a working ranch and some original barns still stand today due to the genius of the old timers skill of erecting structures that endured the elements and time. In the early nineteen hundreds, around 1907 the ranch house was built and the farm house still stands today, of course time has required that a little retrofitting was needed hear and there. We removed the original stove, complete with a baking compartment, to be restored. The dinners my Mom cooked on that stove were amazing. The quaint quarters are slowly morphing into an Italian Cottage and now serves as our Brides. When You step out the door onto the deck and lawn patio area, where guest love to great one another and visit, you will feel the comfort this special place has to offer. The other buildings are covered with Boston Ivy and Climbing Red Roses. Meandering through the walk ways and wagon wheels and Italian split rail fencing you step into the courtyard that straddles the Garden of Dwarf Fruit Trees, "the orchard", laden with fresh fruit and lush green grass; for some reason guests love to kick off their shoes and sit with their children or friends, and if you step between the Redwood trees that adorn the walk way you can step into the Event Center and the Silver Bullet, the bar can be serviced from inside the Center and the veranda.

We created a place away from the city, hotels and golf courses, the Event Center was carved out of the original horse barn, including its hay loft. The interior is redwood and holds a special fragrance and an air of nobility. It is a great place to have a reception and dance under moon and the stars. We open up the exterior doors and let the fresh air and sun shine through and when the sun sets we turn down the twinkle lights and it just gets romantic.

Just step off the backside of the veranda and you can sit and visit in the remains of the old corral, I can still see my father breaking one of his young horses when the moment arises, it is a great place to sit. You can also step into the lawn area and it is covered with an umbrella of wild oak trees next to the creek and from here you can see the arbor where the Brides and Grooms exchange vows with our Tuscan views of the rolling hills and vineyards. Your guest are seated in the lawn area under the various trees the melt into the landscape during your ceremony.

When you come into the Gardens you can walk down the Rose Arbor and you can enjoy the sounds of the waterfall and the gently breeze form the mist of the pond. From here you walk a path way across the lawn to the arbor and the Tuscan view. In between the pond and the oak trees is a large white tinted area with twinkle lights to dine by as the sun sets. The Gardens are lush and green and surrounded in roses and flowers. We serve dinner buffet style under the veranda of the Event Center, we have old oak wine barrels that hold the bountiful table setting for your guests. The Event Center has so much flexibility in setting the tone of the evening, its Simply Elegant. We set up the band or Disc Jockey so that you can watch them at their craft or dance to the music of the night.

When you are at the Gardens there are some many special spots, under one adjacent barn sits the doctors old 1800's carriage and next to that is a covered wagon that was used out of Nevada, and the other wagons to view, one such is the old freight wagon that we use to set the gifts upon, it is next to the old ore cart that was used to mine the silver and gold in Goldfield, NV.

We have tried to maintain the privacy seclusion and the integrity of the setting, there are no neighbors in sight, except the feed store on the adjacent parcel and guests love to visit this treasure trove which is adjacent to our parking lot, you have to peak over the vines to find your way there. The parking is off street and is fenced and gated. Our attendant will assist you in finding ample parking. In fact you might even want to have a carriage guide you around the property for that special entry by the Rose Arbor. Once such couple brought in an original Wells Fargo Stage Coach and gated a six team of horses around the field of strawberries.

If you are planning a wedding, class reunion, engagement party, corporate event, or an anniversary reunion, then consider our Secret Garden. You may also want to add your name to our guest list for one of our Special Wine Maker Dinners. Our events come in all shapes and sizes, your evening can be informal or... Simply Elegant.
